Aniimo Dex Guide

All 82 base species, the full form system, element and spatial counters, evolution from Lumin to Nova, and every held item you can equip. Aniimo looks like a simple creature-catcher at first — then you open the official index and find 82 numbered species, realize each one splits into regional, weather, and rare forms, and discover that each form can evolve twice with different requirements.

How the Dex Works // 01

How the Dex Works: 82 Species and Their Numbers

Official Numbers: NO.001–082 plus special numbers

The official index numbers every base species from NO.001 to NO.082 — 82 distinct creatures. The first entries set the tone: NO.001 Emberpup, NO.002 Flameruff, NO.003 Scorchhowl, NO.004 Inferlupa, NO.005 Celestis, and so on through the roster of starters, birds, sheep, crabs, wolves, and dragons. Note that NO.030 does not appear in the index yet — an unannounced or withheld slot.

  1. NO.001

    Emberpup

  2. NO.002

    Flameruff

  3. NO.003

    Scorchhowl

  4. NO.004

    Inferlupa

  5. NO.005

    Celestis

Outside the normal block

Beyond the base 82, special numbers exist: NO.10002, NO.10003, NO.11001 sit outside the normal dex block.

The NO.999xx series

The NO.999xx series — including NO.99996 and NO.99998 — holds event or legendary-style creatures. If you see a five-digit number, you're looking at something outside the standard catch-and-register loop.

Registering Everything Pays You

The dex exists for a reason beyond pride: the Aniilog tracks everything you catch and discover, and submitting catch reports pays Credits in large bundles. Registering a new species, hitting catch milestones, and logging variants all release payouts — the Outposts' research consoles update your count, so treat them as the checkpoint where your collection turns into currency. This is why "completing the dex" is a money strategy, not just a hobby.

Variant System // 02

One Species, Many Forms: The Variant System

The numbering tells you how many species exist — but not how many ways each one can look. That's the form system, and it's the second thing to understand, because the Aniilog counts every variant separately and some variants even change element.

Regional Variants

Many species have regional variants tied to where you catch them. The same base creature appears as a Bay, Beach, Mountain Woods, Highland, Snowfield, Plateau, Mudflat, Forest, Grassland, Sea of Flowers, or Towerwood form depending on the area. When you hear players counting "hundreds of creatures to catch," the regional forms are most of that number.

  • Bay
  • Beach
  • Mountain Woods
  • Highland
  • Snowfield
  • Plateau
  • Mudflat
  • Forest
  • Grassland
  • Sea of Flowers
  • Towerwood

Weather and Time Forms

Weather and the day-night cycle produce the next tier of forms: Rainstorm, Thunderstorm, and Cloudmist variants appear under the right sky (Rainstorm Turbo, Thunderstorm Scorchhowl, Cloudmist Nimbi), and Nighttime variants surface only at night (Nighttime Susuta, Nighttime Bonesky, Nighttime Flutternym). If you're hunting one of these, check the sky and the clock before you settle in.

  • Rainstorm
  • Thunderstorm
  • Cloudmist
  • Nighttime

Rare Forms: Prismana, Umbral, Legendary, Sparkling

Four rare tiers sit above the regular forms, and they're the real collection goals:

  • Prismana

Prismana — rainbow-hued forms that appear during Prismana Flow weather. The one exception is Prismana Fulmintis, tied to the paid companion handbook.

  • Umbral

Umbral — dark, shadowed versions of existing creatures; the Wild Surge event is a confirmed source.

  • Legendary

Legendary — top-tier species (like Infergon) with unique traits and their own appearance system. Vein Crevices can summon them.

  • Sparkling

Sparkling — the shiny variant, guaranteed by hatching with a Sparkling Cube.

Ecosystem Loop // 03

How Rare Forms Actually Spawn: The Ecosystem Loop

Knowing that Prismana, Umbral, and Legendary forms exist is one thing; knowing how to make them appear is another. Every rare form in Aniimo is tied to a specific event or condition — you don't grind for them, you trigger them. The ecosystem mechanics below are the trigger list, in order of how often you'll use them.

Wild Surges: Mass Spawns and the Umbral Source

Wild Surges are map events: infuse energy into a Bloom, and a surge of creatures spawns around it for about two minutes. It's the reliable mass-catch window and a confirmed way to encounter Umbral forms. Roll through the crowd with a Tumbler-style Aniipod, and bring Nurture Offerings to pull the specific species you want.

Blooms, Prismana Flow, and Nurture Offerings

  1. 01

    Catch creatures

Catching creatures charges each zone's Prismatic Energy.

  2. 02

    Fill the bar

Fill the bar and the zone enters Prismana Flow weather.

  3. 03

    Prismana forms spawn

The flow spawns Prismana forms across the zone.

The loop that produces Prismana forms runs on area energy: catching creatures charges each zone's Prismatic Energy; fill the bar and the zone enters Prismana Flow weather, which spawns Prismana forms. Blooms are the same landmarks that trigger Wild Surges, serve as fast-travel points, and double as the energy-infusion stations for both loops. Nurture Offerings are the material you offer at Nurture points to attract a chosen species — the better the offering, the better the quality that appears.

Vein Abundances and Crevices

The last spawn tier runs on Vein energy: Vein Abundances summon a large group of creatures at once, and Vein Crevices concentrate enough energy to summon a Legendary — enter the rift to challenge it. Both are free rare sources that most players walk past, which makes them the cheapest Legendary farm in the game.

Anatomy of an Aniimo // 04

What Makes Up an Aniimo: Species Stats and Individual Quality

With the forms and their sources covered, the next question is what's inside an individual creature — because two Aniimo of the same species and form can still be very different. This section separates the species-level traits (the same for every member) from the individual-level traits (rolled per catch), and the individual layer is what separates a keeper from a benchwarmer.

Elements, Roles, and Stages: The Species Layer

Every creature is sorted along three official axes:

  • Element

Element — the official index lists nine: Light, Fire, Ice, Dark, Electric, Grass, Water, Earth, and Wind. (One widely used guide also tracks a Rock element; expect the chart to grow if more elemental creatures appear in later regions.)

  • Role

Role — five combat jobs: DPS, Healer, Support, Break, and Energy (regeneration).

  • Stage

Stage — three growth stages: Newborn, Growth, and Mature. This maps onto the evolution system below (Lumin, Gamma, Nova) — two vocabularies for the same three-step growth.

Six Core Stats: The Numbers That Grow

Each creature's combat profile runs on six stats: HP, Break, Attack, Magic Defense, Physical Defense, and Energy Recovery. These are the numbers that change as you level up and evolve, and they're what you compare when two creatures look similar on paper.

  • HP
  • Break
  • Attack
  • Magic Defense
  • Physical Defense
  • Energy Recovery

Personalities: 16 MBTI-Style Bonuses

Here's where individual quality starts. Every Aniimo randomly gets a personality built like a Myers-Briggs type: four letters, one from each pair, for 16 total combinations (ISTJ through ENTJ). Each slot grants a passive stat bonus:

SlotLetterBonus
1E: EnergeticATK +2%, BREAK +2%
1I: InstinctiveREGEN +4%
2S: PracticalDMG +4%
2N: NimbleCrit Rate +5%
3T: TenaciousP.DEF +6%
3F: FaithfulM.DEF +6%
4J: JudiciousHP +4%
4P: PlayfulDMG Reduction +4%

One bonus per slot, so the four letters shape the whole passive profile. For DPS aim for Energetic + Nimble (ENFP/ENTP/ENFJ/ENTJ); for Break units Energetic + Practical (ESTP/ESFP/ESTJ/ESFJ); for healers and supports Instinctive + Judicious (ISTJ/ISFJ/INFJ/INTJ). Personalities roll random, but you can reroll with Psyche Fruits (100 Glimmer in the shop) — feed one and the personality changes at random.

ENFP / ENTP / ENFJ / ENTJ

Break

Energetic + Practical

ESTP / ESFP / ESTJ / ESFJ

Healer / Support

Instinctive + Judicious

ISTJ / ISFJ / INFJ / INTJ

Individual Values: Potential and Innate Potential

The deeper individual layer is the hidden Potential stat, and it sets the ceiling permanently. The top tier is Perfect Potential — the strongest roll a creature can have. Related is Innate Potential: a creature with an innate stat above 8 is a rare find worth building around. The full numeric range isn't published, but hatching with a Sparkling Cube guarantees Perfect Potential and always produces a Sparkling form — the only reliable way to force top quality.

Counters // 05

Element and Spatial Counters: Using What You Caught

Knowing what's inside a creature only matters if you know how to use it in a fight. Two counter systems decide matchups, and checking only one of them is how teams that "should" win lose.

Element Matchups: What to Use, What to Avoid

Element matchups are read from the defender's side — find the enemy's element, then use or avoid accordingly:

Enemy elementUse against itAvoid
IceFire, EarthIce, Lightning, Water
LightDarkLight, Fire, Water, Grass
FireEarth, WaterIce, Fire, Grass
DarkLight, WindEarth
LightningIce, DarkLight, Lightning, Wind
WindLight, LightningDark, Wind
EarthWater, GrassIce, Fire, Lightning, Earth
WaterIce, Lightning, GrassFire, Dark, Rock, Water
GrassFire, Dark, WindEarth, Water, Grass

Spatial Counters: Position Decides Battles

On top of elements, Aniimo has a second counter layer based on spatial relations — the attack type tied to mobility skills, innate skills, and basic attacks. It forms a four-way loop:

  1. Rangedbeats Fly
  2. Flybeats Pound
  3. Poundbeats Tunnel
  4. Tunnelbeats RangedRangedloop closes

Ranged beats Fly → Fly beats Pound → Pound beats Tunnel → Tunnel beats Ranged.

A ranged attacker shreds flying creatures but gets shredded by tunnel diggers; a pound attacker breaks tunnel users but can't touch fliers. When you pick a team for a tough fight, check both layers — elemental advantage alone isn't enough if the boss's spatial type counters your whole team.

Evolution // 06

Evolution: Growing a Species to Its Final Form

Understanding what a creature is gets you halfway; the other half is what it becomes. Every species grows through three stages, and the trigger list is wider than most creature games — which is exactly why planning the evolution matters.

Three Stages: Lumin → Gamma → Nova

  1. Stage 1

    Lumin

Lumin Stage — the base form found in the wild; lower base stats but the highest growth potential.

  2. Stage 2

    Gamma

Gamma Stage — the mid form, unlocked by raising baseline Resonance or completing initial evolution conditions.

  3. Stage 3

    Nova

Nova Stage — the final form, requiring max Resonance, stat requirements, or special rituals.

Seven Ways to Trigger Evolution

Evolution fires through seven mechanisms, and most species need more than one:

  1. 01

    Level up

The standard trigger; most creatures need a certain level.

  2. 02

    Evolution materials

Some species need a specific item, usually dropped by Alpha bosses.

  3. 03

    Missions and challenges

    Certain thresholds sit behind quests.

  4. 04

    Passive talents

Some evolutions require unlocking a specific passive in the creature's talent tree.

  5. 05

    Time of day

Some species only evolve during daytime or nighttime.

  6. 06

    Defeating Alpha or Omega bosses

Specific boss kills remove evolution locks.

  7. 07

    Species-specific targets

    Unique environmental or action triggers.

Regional Variants Evolve in Place; Morph Ball Switches Elements

A regional variant keeps its variant through evolution — a Snowfield Glacy evolves into a Snowfield-form creature. To get an evolved form with a different element type (Rainstorm, Desert, Volcanic, and similar), you must either catch the base Lumin form in that biome, or use a Morph Ball (300 Glimmer in the shop) before starting the evolution.

Held Items // 07

Loadouts: Equipping the 17 Held Items

The last layer on top of a fully evolved, well-built Aniimo is equipment. Held Items are the only gear in the game, so the entire equipment meta fits in this one list.

How a Held Item Is Built

Each held item has three parts: a main stat (Damage Amp, BREAK, HP, REGEN, or healing — +5% to +10% by rarity), a core effect (a unique behavior like per-level growth or a chance-triggered proc), and tier effects unlocked by upgrading. Higher-rarity items carry higher main stats.

  • Part 1

    Main stat

Damage Amp, BREAK, HP, REGEN, or healing — +5% to +10% by rarity.

  • Part 2

    Core effect

A unique behavior like per-level growth or a chance-triggered proc.

  • Part 3

    Tier effects

Unlocked by upgrading. Higher-rarity items carry higher main stats.

Getting and Upgrading Held Items

Held Items drop from defeating Alpha Aniimo (each Alpha has its own tied item) and from overworld chests. They upgrade through Carried Item Cores — Basic, Common, and Advanced tiers, dropped by specific Alphas like Ignitis, Grizbo, and Geoclaw. The endgame picks (Gargantuan Claw, Ferocious Fang, Spirited Feather, Giant Tortoise Shell) are the legendary rewards of that loop.

Common Mistakes // 08

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  1. 01

    Collecting species but ignoring variants.

The Aniilog counts forms separately, and regional variants can differ in element and stats — completion means hunting the branches, not just the trunks.

  2. 02

Grinding rare forms at the wrong time.

Prismana needs Prismana Flow weather, Umbral comes from Wild Surges, Nighttime forms need night — trigger the condition instead of farming the location.

  3. 03

Training the first of a species you catch.

Potential decides the ceiling — a Perfect-Potential creature outclasses a bad roll of the same species forever. Check before you invest.

  4. 04

    Ignoring personality.

Four free stat bonuses are random but fixable: roll for Energetic on DPS, Judicious on healers, and feed Psyche Fruits until you get what you need.

  5. 05

    Planning around elements only.

Spatial counters (Ranged/Fly/Pound/Tunnel) decide fights just as much as elements; a "perfect matchup" team can still lose the spatial battle.

  6. 06

Giving Supreme Elixir to a support.

It sets max HP to 1 and doesn't apply to Support creatures — a wasted slot and a dead team member.

FAQ // 09

FAQ

01How many Aniimo are there?

The official index lists 82 base species (NO.001–NO.082), plus special numbers (NO.10002, NO.11001, and the NO.999xx series). Counting regional, weather, and rare variants, the registerable roster is far larger.

02What are the five-digit numbers like NO.99996?

Special creatures outside the standard dex block — event or legendary-style species. NO.030 is missing from the current official index.

03How do I get Prismana, Umbral, or Sparkling forms?

Prismana forms spawn during Prismana Flow weather; Umbral forms come from Wild Surge events; Sparkling forms are guaranteed by hatching with a Sparkling Cube; Legendary forms can be summoned at Vein Crevices.

04How many elements are there?

The official index lists nine: Light, Fire, Ice, Dark, Electric, Grass, Water, Earth, and Wind. One widely used guide also tracks a Rock element, so the chart may grow.

05Can I change my Aniimo's personality?

Yes — feed it a Psyche Fruit (100 Glimmer in the shop) and the personality rerolls randomly.

06What is Potential?

A hidden per-creature stat that sets how strong it can become. Perfect is the top tier; an Innate Potential stat above 8 is a rare find. A Sparkling Cube guarantees Perfect Potential and a shiny on hatch.

07How many evolution stages are there?

Three: Lumin (base), Gamma (mid), and Nova (final). Most species need level plus materials, and some need time of day, boss kills, or species-specific triggers.

08Can a regional variant evolve into a different element?

It keeps its variant through evolution. To change the element type, catch the base form in the target biome or use a Morph Ball (300 Glimmer) before evolving.

09What are the best held items?

Ferocious Fang and Gargantuan Horn are the standard DPS/Break picks; Heartseeker Pendant and Capacitous Battery are strong proc items; Miraculous Fleece belongs on healers. Avoid Supreme Elixir on anything that supports.

10What are spatial counters?

A second counter system based on attack positioning: Ranged beats Fly, Fly beats Pound, Pound beats Tunnel, Tunnel beats Ranged.
