Aniimo Materials & Eggs Guide

Every crafting material and what it feeds, the egg system and how to hatch, rare egg sources including Egg Heist's Darkler eggs, and the source-by-source farming map. Aniimo hides its economy in plain sight: a dozen material types each feed one specific system, and eggs are a separate chain where the source decides whether you get a common starter or a rare dark form. Most players realize too late that they've been farming the wrong Alpha, or that the rare form they want comes from an egg, not a catch.

Two Chains // 01

The Two Chains: Materials and Eggs

Chain 01

The Material Chain: Every System Has Its Material

Aniimo's materials are strict about their jobs: each material type feeds exactly one system, and using one for the wrong purpose wastes it. The five main lines are evolution stones (element stones, Star Dust, Star Sand, Starcryst Essence), Resonance Star-Up crystals (Dewdrop Crystals), carried-item upgrade cores, EXP items (the Growth line), and utility items (personality fruits, the Morph Ball). If you remember that mapping — which the catalog below makes explicit — you'll never wonder what a material is for again.

Chain 02

The Egg Chain: Source Decides What You Get

Eggs are the second chain, and their rule is different: the source of an egg decides what hatches out of it. Wild eggs give common species; event and Heist eggs give rare or special ones; the paid handbook's egg gives Prismana Fulmintis. This is why "where did this egg come from" matters more than the egg's appearance — and it's also the answer to the most common question about Umbral forms: they hatch from dark eggs, they don't come from catching.

Catalog // 02

Material Catalog: What Each Material Is For

Evolution Materials: Stones and Star Materials

Evolution needs its own materials, and nearly all of them come from the Alpha bosses:

Element stones

Eight stones match the eight element Alphas (Gust, Night, Blaze, Sprout, Freeze, Wave, Loam, Roan). These are the backbone of every Lumin→Gamma→Nova evolution.

Star Dust and Star Sand

Evolution and crafting materials from Alpha Rookey, Alpha Luminelle, and the Young Omega Sherro.

Starcryst Essence

The newest endgame material, dropped by Omega Infergon; expect it in high-tier crafting.

Capability Awakening materials

Paid by the weekly Omega/Alpha challenges, used for the awakening layer of training.

Resonance and Upgrade Materials

Dewdrop Crystals

The Resonance Star-Up material, named per region (Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystal, and so on). Alpha Tubster and Alpha Magmarex drop them in batches of 60; Omega Tuckin pays 100. This is the resource that raises your creatures' star ranks, so it's the most valuable repeat-farm material in the early and mid game.

Carried Item Cores

Basic, Common, and Advanced tiers that upgrade held items. Dropped by the five core Alphas (Ignitis, Grizbo, Geoclaw, Minespine, Irisal).

EXP and Utility Items

Growth Bud, Growth Flower, Growth Fruit

The EXP line; spend them on your carry to bring a new catch up to content instantly.

Psyche Fruit

100 Glimmer — rerolls personality.

Morph Ball

300 Glimmer — swaps the element of an evolution.

Capafruit

1,000 Glimmer — a training consumable whose precise effect isn't published; it's consumed on creatures and its usage carries over through Inherit, so it's safe to stockpile for the creatures you're keeping.

Collectibles and Tokens

Irisalis Petal

A first-clear bonus from every Alpha; a collectible/reward token.

Lumin Amber

The map resource used to activate and upgrade Branches (fast travel); found via puzzles and challenges.

Safaris

Awarded as a first-clear bonus in large batches (500–800); its exact spending use isn't documented yet, so treat it as a collectible until its shop is confirmed.

Eggshell Coins

The Egg Heist's in-run currency (see below); they don't leave the mode's economy.

Egg System // 03

The Egg System: What Eggs Are and How to Hatch Them

Eggs Are Another Way to Get Species

Eggs exist alongside catching as a second route to creatures. Wild eggs appear in the overworld and hatch into their species; event eggs and Heist eggs hold rarer or special forms. The egg types players actually track are the wild egg, the limited/event egg, the Prismana egg (from the paid handbook), and the Darkler egg (from Egg Heist). Each is tied to its own source — you can't farm one source and expect all four types.

Hatching: The Outpost Hatchinator

Eggs don't hatch on their own. Take an egg to a Hatchinator — the incubation machine found at Outposts — and it runs the hatch for you. A few things worth knowing: eggs show a progress indicator while incubating; newly hatched creatures may need immediate feeding, bonding, or shelter per early player coverage; and if you want a guaranteed premium result, hatching with a Sparkling Cube locks in Perfect Potential and always produces a Sparkling form — with the style odds running 99% common Sparkling / 1% Dazzling for regular eggs, while eggs from Operation: Egg Heist carry a small chance at the Shadow Sparkling style instead.

Rare Eggs // 04

Rare Egg Sources: Where Eggs Come From

Egg Heist: The Foremost Source of Rare Eggs

Operation: Egg Heist is the single best source of rare eggs — the mode explicitly exists to hand them out. It's a PvPvE heist on the Lost Isles: you and two teammates enter a sanctum, fight wild creatures and other player teams, grab an egg from the nest, and escape with it. The headline reward is the Darkler egg, which hatches the dark versions of normal creatures — the game's take on a shiny, except the rare version is a shadow palette rather than a recolor. Darkler and normal versions have no stat difference, only appearance. This is the confirmed source of Umbral-type forms, which is also why the official formula lists Umbral as uncatchable: you don't catch them, you hatch them.

Egg Heist also runs a shop on its in-run currency, Eggshell Coins (earned by defeating enemies — higher-rarity loot pays more): the headline item is the Mysterious Umbrabow Egg at 400,000 coins, plus three key tiers (Rusted 25k, Silver-Plated 60k, Gilded 130k) that open locked rooms in sanctums, backpacks that expand carry capacity, and experimental crafting materials. Note that the mode's current details come from the closed beta build, so launch specifics may shift.

Other Egg Sources

Wild eggs

Scattered across the overworld as exploration points.

Daily activities

The daily clear pays an egg that guarantees an Elite-or-better creature.

Companion Handbook

The paid Advanced handbook includes a Prismana Fulmintis egg.

Events

Limited-time events (like the egg-hunting seasonal events) add their own egg sources while they run.

Egg Heist // 05

How Egg Heist Works (From an Egg Perspective)

The Run: Find the Nest, Steal the Egg, Escape

The loop is short and tense: your team searches the island for the activated sanctum's entrance; inside, you locate the egg nest and take the egg. Here's the distinctive part — you Twine with the egg and control its movement, rolling it toward the exit while enemies and rival teams try to stop you. You also collect Eggshell Coins by clearing enemies. Once you hit the escape conditions (an egg plus a coin quota, shown on screen), find and activate the destination mechanism to open the exit portal, roll the egg out, and submit it to the egg boat on the main island — it's mailed to you, and you evacuate.

Difficulty and Risk

NormalHardNightmare

Three difficulties — Normal, Hard, Nightmare — with higher tiers paying more, gated behind reaching specific ranks first. The real cost is the risk: if you faint during a run, you forfeit everything in your backpack and what you have equipped. Prepare before you enter, and don't bring gear you can't afford to lose. It unlocks at the Veteran Pathfinder rank, so it's a mid-game-onward activity, not a day-one one.

What to Save, What to Spend

The resource game comes down to a few rules of thumb: spend EXP items and cores immediately — they're multipliers, not savings. Bank Dewdrop Crystals and evolution stones for the creatures you've committed to (check the evolution path before spending). Hold Eggshell Coins toward the big-ticket Umbrabow Egg unless you specifically need keys to farm more efficiently first. And never spend Primegy on a source that doesn't pay the material you actually need this week.

Mistakes // 07

Common Mistakes to Avoid

01

Feeding materials to the wrong system.

Stones are for evolution, crystals for Star-Up, cores for held items — each material has one job.

02

Hoarding EXP items and cores.

They're multipliers; spent is stronger than saved.

03

Farming the wrong Alpha.

Each material drops from a specific boss; check the map above before you spend the day.

04

Expecting Umbral forms from catching.

Umbral comes from Darkler eggs in Egg Heist — the formula even lists Umbral as uncatchable.

05

Entering Egg Heist unprepared.

Faint and you lose everything in your backpack and equipped. Gear up first.

06

Assuming all eggs are equal.

Source decides species and rarity — a wild egg won't give you a Prismana or a Darkler.

07

Spending Eggshell Coins on keys when you need the big egg.

Plan: Umbrabow Egg is 400k; keys are good, but know your goal.

FAQ // 08

FAQ

01What is each material for?

Evolution stones, Star Dust/Sand, and Starcryst Essence feed evolution; Dewdrop Crystals feed Resonance Star-Up; Carried Item Cores upgrade held items; Growth items give EXP; Psyche Fruits reroll personality; the Morph Ball swaps evolution element.

02Where do evolution stones drop?

From the eight element-stone Alphas — each Alpha drops its matching element's stone.

03How do I raise Resonance Star-Up?

Spend Dewdrop Crystals, farmed from Alpha Tubster/Magmarex (×60) or Omega Tuckin (×100).

04How do I hatch an egg?

Take it to a Hatchinator at an Outpost. Hatching with a Sparkling Cube guarantees Perfect Potential and a Sparkling form.

05What kinds of eggs are there?

Wild eggs, limited/event eggs, the Prismana egg (paid handbook), the daily activity egg, and the Darkler egg from Egg Heist.

06Where do rare eggs come from?

Operation: Egg Heist is the primary source — it hands out rare eggs including Darkler (dark-form) eggs on successful runs.

07How do I get Umbral (dark) forms?

Hatch Darkler eggs from Egg Heist. Umbral creatures aren't catchable — they come from eggs.

08Is Egg Heist dangerous?

Yes — if you faint, you lose everything in your backpack and equipped. Run with prepared gear, and unlock it by reaching Veteran Pathfinder.

09What should I buy with Eggshell Coins?

The Mysterious Umbrabow Egg (400,000) is the headline; keys (25k–130k) open locked rooms; backpacks expand capacity. Plan for your goal.

10Should I hoard or spend materials?

Spend EXP items and cores immediately; bank crystals and evolution stones for committed creatures; hold Eggshell Coins toward the egg you actually want.
